Configuring the Snapshot Capture Service

A snapshot is a document that contains information about an object, captured at a specific point in the object's lifecycle. Snapshots are created using the Snapshot Capture Service.

To configure the service you must:

  1. Install Snapshot Capture Service, which is an option of the AssetWise Information Integrity Server installer. This service is installed by default, and is listed as Record Capture Service in the installer.
  2. In AssetWise System Management Console, enable Snapshot Capture Service for your community.
  3. In AssetWise Director, create a snapshot class that includes at least one snapshot template. (See the AssetWise Implementation Guide or the AssetWise Director help for details about configuring the class and template.)

To Enable the Snapshot Capture Service for Your Community

  1. In the Explorer pane, expand Servers > your_server.
  2. Select the Snapshot Capture node.
  3. In the Communities Served list, check the check box next to your community.
  4. Log in to the community if prompted.
